I am puzzled by this statement from Paul Johnson. Does Nortel have a proprietary architecture? What is it called? What makes it proprietary? "Internetstocks.com: Nortel is a formidable name to beat in this space. Johnson: Yes, but Nortel can’t keep up with demand so there’s a spillover, and secondly Nortel has a proprietary architecture and the new vendors have an open architecture, and it is generally perceived that the open architecture will gain market share."
