And I'm sure the SPs have complaints of their own against G*: the phased "roll out" of service is very costly and tedious to explain to retailers; and every forecasted schedule has been missed. Small wonder, if some distributors have been saying to themselves, well, I'll just wait six months (or a year) and see if G* has its act together by then before I bend my pick trying to sell their service. >

This is right on. G*USA engineers have told me that and so have many distributors. The number 1 initial concern for Vod was does the product perform as advertised? They simply were not going to push it until they were satisfied. I think they are now. The second question on their minds was can you actually use the phone outside your service area AS ADVERTISED. Well, we all know the answer to that is no but getting better. GW deployment and roaming have been huge impediments to the rollout and until more of this is resolved, there is not going to be a big push to the mass market. Fortunately, the gw deployment is proceding and roaming issues are being resolved. I still agree that the reward justifies the risk. It is a when not if question imho.
