They had to slow down production at Betze-Post a little in the first half to accomodate the building of a new roaster which will be used to increase production in the second half. A planned drop should not be used to make a future prediction, so I trust ABX will do 3.7moz as expected/planned. Barrick is also on track to the 5moz level by 2003.

"The Company expects to increase production 35% from 3.7 million ounces to 5 million ounces in 2003 at a US$145 cost level. Barrick should generate over US$1.5 billion in free cash flow over the next five years, after building
three new mines."
