Took a trip through Yahoo-land this AM, and revisited some interesting sites:

hardwarecentral.com

The best part:

"DDR component supporters maintain that this device is an evolutionary product, because it is a synchronous DRAM with additional features. However, DDR is NOT EVOLUTIONARY TO SYSTEM MANUFACTURERS. A DDR-based system requires a separate motherboard with a new layout, connectors and components which are not compatible with an SDRAM memory subsystem. Further, DDR-based motherboards are expected to encounter layout and implementation problems because of its non-evolutionary nature.

(my caps)

DDR be dead, dead, dead <grin>
