Re: Scumbria said AMD could ship a 1.2-1.4 GHz Athlon

Not quite. He said they could ship it if they were as desperate as Intel is, and were willing to stoop as low as Intel has.

But since AMD is neither desperate nor up for any low-stooping, they haven't. But Intel has.

Calling a 62 degree part regular production was a mistake. Intel can afford lots of mistakes, but this is one more to add to a list that has grown very long over the past year.

Elmer,

Scumbria said AMD could ship a 1.2-1.4 GHz Athlon.

It is fun selectively cutting and pasting from other people's posts, isn't it?

As I made abundantly clear, I was introducing evidence that AMD could sell 1.2-1.4GHz CPU's, if they were willing to sink (not quite) as low as Intel's 1.13GHz intro.
