false gap fills

From where I come my take is that it is suspicious if there is given to much emphasis on nomenclature and labeling of any visible phenomenon. Suspicious in a sense that the more labeling and nomenclature surrounds a certain phenomenon the less expert know how exists about the underlying mechanism that really matters. However I do in no way apply this as a general rule - especially not in a (for me) new area as the stock market.

That's why I would appreciate very much if you would offer your advance guidance based on your expertise and understanding of the gap issue(s) related to AMD. Based on that I might have to decide - in case you leave this board at any time - whether I do have to go over the "primer" and whether I have to try to get a more fundamental understanding of the gap issues for my future dealings.

Thanks in advance.
Manfred

BTW, here is one link on gaps. It does not go into great detail as it is just what it says "a primer" but is a good overview if you are really interested.

hardrightedge.com;

Monty,

I know only some TA, but I was aware of the 3 different types of gaps: breakaway, continuation, and exhaustion. Of course its the breakaway (and AMD's only gap to date) that you feel needs to be filled. Now remember, one of the first things the primer says is that its not necessary for a gap to be filled.

Knowing that and knowing that AMD has not had a latter stage gap like a continuation gap(forget the exhaustion gap) when a stock has become overextended and its run may be on its last legs, what makes you think that the one gap in AMD's chart has to be filled and why now.

Just curious. Actually, I am more than curious.
