Tom,

The desktop e-mail encryption market is absolutely saturated right now. Solutions are a dime a dozen, with free PGP being the most widely used package worldwide.

Wireless e-mail encryption is another matter. I was very happy to read about RIM and Certicom's partnership expansion. If memory serves, my Blackberry uses ECC/DESX to secure everything transmitted between between my desktop and the Blackberry, but there's no end-to-end encryption support. In other words, if I sent you an e-mail from my Blackberry, there's no way for me to secure it so that you receive it encrypted. I'm assuming this is a shortcoming RIM will offer a solution for in the near future, and apparently Certicom technology will be involved.
