Off topic.

Herm,

Can I ask you another favour?

I am interested in Texas Instruments (TXN) but have found conflicting technical data on its near term direction.

Would you mind taking a quick peek and letting me know what you think?

Thank you.

To All:

My in-laws are looking for some income from their portfolio. I know a ways back HERM talked about a retired couple he knew that were doing real well CC'g.

My question is this: being a retired Ford retiree w/alot of shares in his portfolio from over the years, my father in law was given 539 shares of VISTEON (VC)which FORD spun off.
If it helps here's a chart. siliconinvestor.com

What if he were to sell the Mar 01 17.5's (@ about 2 1/8). That's 5 calls (500 out of his 539) paying 1062.50 (13%ROI)

If he's called out he picks up another 937.00 (500x17.5 =8500- 7812.50 (his 500 shares @ today' 15 5/8 price)

Add the 937 to the 1062.5 (pre commission, of course) yields a gain of 2,000 on his 7812.50 or about 25%

QUESTION: Is he better off doing DEC calls for more opportunities? Or is this Mar 01 call more conservative to enable us to perform REPAIRS (buy back calls etc. if need be)
Any value in the Dec Calls due to timing of earnings reports? or Ford/Visteon closing out a fiscal year . . . that may impact share price end of year?

ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED
JAYTEE
