Steve,

Absolutely. Nothing even close to resembling "rampant" conditions out there.

You can't know the details of the example you cited. You have to understand that the media look for sensational headlines. They will take something and blow it up in order to press people's buttons. When you investigate wrongdoing in the biz you find it has nothing to do with what the media would have you believe.

I have no idea why anyone believes an MM can do anything out of line. When you work as one you can't see it either, but it is amazing to listen to MMs talk at a cocktail party. They express the most ridiculous false nonsense and the purpose of doing that is to engage in "big talk".

When you become an MM you realize it's a nothing job. There are no advantages and most quit after several years to do something constructive and interesting with their lives. Some try to go up in the firm and some try to use their background to get into money management, but they find that what they know is useless. What do you know as an MM? What is of value? Figuring out what will appreciate in value. Knowledge of the machinery is of no value to doing that.
