Peggylynn, I don't know about you but I am kinda tired of this Gorilla metaphor as it applies to business and tech companies in particular. (does the term Gorilla even apply to non-tech companies -- and if not, why NOT?.

Gorilla is a nice catchy word to describe a successful company -- that's all. To try to put anymore meaning (theoretical, structural, standards, margins, etc.) is what I call backward rationalization/analysis of a successful company. It is a much abused, misused, and operationally meaningless concept -- much like words like proprietary, interoperability.......it contains a vague concept but no CEO would use the Gorilla concept to make strategic or tactical decisions in my opinion (it does sell lot of books and help mgmt consultants make lot of money however !!)

The bottom line is that NT is growing their business as fast as CSCO is right now AND are doing in HIGHER growth sectors (optics, wireless, access).

To boot, NT is finally getting serious recognition if you read all the latest band-wagon press and NT's latest earnings multiple which is approaching CSCO's as fast as CSCO's PE is coming down to NT's.

So in the REAL WORLD of business and REAL WORLD metrics like revenue growth, market share, competitive edge (product, technology, execution, support) and redefining public networking infrastructure (optics-wireless leveraging), there is no question that if CSCO is a GORILLA (whatever that means!), then NT is also a GORILLA.

Enough said about the definition of Gorilla and whether NT belongs to this category.

Bottom line is that I couldn't care less if NT is not considered a Gorilla as long as they continue to execute, grab market share, develop leading-edge technology and create huge shareholder value!!!
