Apparently, the market does not agree with your analysis.
AMD has been doing poorly relative to RAMBUS over the last few weeks. AMD is off from its peak in the 90's earlier this year and peenetrated the 50's this week.

A good question: Is it too late too short AMD?

1)AMD has failed to deliver the DDR Thunderbird we were led to expect in June.

2) The AMD Thunderbird just got murdered by the P3 1.13 GHZ in the benchmarks.

3) AMD does not have the production capacity to deliver Duron in time for back to school sales.

4) The P4 is due out soon and should widen the gap between the Athlon's and the Intel products.

5) This is the first profitable period in many years for AMD. The profits are going to reduce the huge debt that AMD is sporting.

Meanwhile, Rambus has licensed 15% of the DRAM market in two months with more deals on the way. RAMBUS has no debt.
RDRAM pricing is dropping fast in advance of the P4 launch. Profits will begin to double each quarter starting this quarter. A P/E of 25 is way too low for this RAMBUS going forward.

But you are entitled to your opinion. I'm up 400% for the year so I really do not care whether it is luck or skill.

:)

There is also this thing about earnings expectations and confidence in those expectations. AMD has done well lately, but jut look at their lumpy history. The momentum seems to be all down right now for AMD shares.
