Yes, lots of vendors and not many customers but that was more or less how the event was structured. It may not be what was intended but the discussion topics were clearly leaning toward vendor involvement.

General comment was there was little controversy about how networks will be architected going forward. That the hope of all optical nets is just that - that opto-electrical "interfaces" at multiple point in a network will be required for the forseeable future. Perhaps the only point of contention is SONET and how long it'll last.

MSPP's - was weak. It's pretty clear that those building big bandwidth optical nets don't understand the term "provisioning". The discussion focused on bandwidth delivery - not service delivery.... this is why CSCO will succeed IMO... they get it.
