Yes, of course I will follow-up. I called Verizon on Friday to report it. The guy told me to hold on while he checked my line. He got back on and informed me that there was a short circuit and it was in my house and there was nothing else they could do for me. He told me I should disconnect all the phones that are connected to this number and figure which one was causing the problem. When my husband got home he checked the the lines himself and was able to determine that what the Verizon guy told me was wrong. The problem was not in the house but in the cable outside. We ended up getting a repair guy yesterday and the problem was in the outside cable. He was able to repair it and the service was restored!

My beef is, why do they have these people testing lines over the phone and giving false information? If my husband didn't know anything about telephone wiring we would still be playing around with our phones trying to figure which one was broken.
