RE:"Why do you say that? MediaGX has been a large volume seller for IA devices (Geode), and National has set up a division around Geode based products."

Could you name a few products that MediaGX is in? I thought it was pretty much dead...at least it is for the desktop because it had a weak FPU and wouldn't scale.
As far as the IA market...I think Intel had much more robust plans for the Timna (MediaGX, Cyrix and Hallapeno freaked Andy Grove into developing the Timna)...like the low end desktop market and replacing Celeron. I thought Intel had StrongARM for the appliance market...?
Unless Timmy scales better than I think it will fade away before it's born...as a matter of fact I'd take the whole Timmy team and put them on development of DDR chipsets for Coppermine and SDRAM and DDR for Willy...immediately...
Entry level Q2 2001 will likely be higher MHz than Timmy will scale. Intel will have to ship a Timmy free with a Willy to get rid of them...if Intel goes ahead with production.
We shall see...
