HUMAN ACTION is one of the main reasons, IMHO, that a short offers a more dramatic and quick profit than a long play. The human factor of pure fear drives everyone out of the theater when someone yells "fire". So when a company announces an earning warning...boom, the screaming starts and everyone heads for the door at once. If, and it is big IF, you can get the short executed the reward can be substantial.

This is different short than someone saying ABCD stock is "over valued" or "has to pull back" or "ahead of itself".
