Gregory M.: I agree with your take on CSCO; earnings 1 cent above the Street estimate with 35-40% revenue growth. I think the AMAT earnings report is far more important, which leads to the following question:

As beaten down as the SOX index and the semiconductor stocks are, would you be buying these stocks (TXN, ADI, AMAT, NVLS, etc.) at this time, or do you feel they have further to fall? Also, how would you play (if at all) the AMAT earnings report coming out this week? Would you be buying these stocks in anticipation of a good earnings report or would you hold off, hoping that the report leads to a better buying opportunity?

To balance my bearish post...let me quote a chat room bullish view by market timer Carpino
"Chuch Carpino, who's been dead on as a market timer says the market is headed up at the end of next week
and leading into September"

Greg, do you have the same $$$ amount on your QQQ shorts and JDSU/ORCL/CSCO longs? U will be always right on that combo.

If market rally, u'll get your 3 big horses outrun QQQ, and can add more QQQ shorts...If NAZ tanks, u can declare your QQQ victory :)

Greg, Have you looked at AVCI? Looks real interesting. Do you own any? or what for a pull back.

Hi Greg,
Congratulations on your award nomination- did you win?
I think "most trusted" would have been a better category
for you, too. I've been looking at SSTI, a flash-memory company that has a growth rate of 38%. They blew out earnings last quarter, but have been weak lately. They're splitting 3 for one on Friday (8/11). Do you have any opinions on it?
Thanks,
Kate
