Dan, Re: PS - there continue to be a limited number of parts that are sprinkled onto some of the more cooperative vendors to be included in select, high margin, systems

No, I have seen 1G PIII system from TINY(which I would say only a 2nd tier vendor) in their shop that I can bring home today. Too bad I have decided to wait for P4 for my next system upgrade.

Re: "I don't think that volume is quite there yet. Maybe during the coming week?"

Dan you know that PriceWatch is the standard of measure for retail availability but you also know that Intel does not sell it's highend processors primarily into that market. You also are the one who pointed out that IBM has been offering same day shipment of 1GHz CuMine systems for some time now. You has 2 tier 1 vendors, IBM and DELL meeting demand. I guess it depends on how you define volume. Maybe by Intel standards AMD has never shipped anything in volume.

Lewinsky - Dan - re: "there continue to be a limited number of parts that are sprinkled onto some of the more cooperative vendors to be included in select, high margin, systems. No one is arguing against that. "

Nope.

And you'll be seeing a lot more of the new Coppermine - at 90 sq. mm. it is 25% smaller than the 120 sq.mm ThumperTurd.
