I'll pull off the Yahoo board for my two cents. I have not been able to identify and direct competitors to UQM. Of course there are plenty of motor companies. Look at the power tool market. Rockwell, Century, etal. In Japan there are companies producing motors that can compete but since this is in an emerging market with low demand (so far) UQM seems to be the only one ever mentioned for automotive units.

I know that a salesman said at a car show that the hybrid could come with a Delta motor rather than a UQM unit but I asked John Gould at UQM and he knew nothing about it. So, there you have it, yes and no.

Also, UQM makes elevator motors and generators these also are shared markets but I see UQM as a one stop shop for green energy.
