Roee,

We discussed MicroFlash at the time of the joint SNDK/Tower conference call. I think you highlighted the main points of the call (as they pertain to SanDisk) in your August 7, 2000 post...

Message 14173084

You asked several questions about eDig and I have resisted answering them as I don't feel they have anything to do with SNDK. Perhaps there are others who have an opinion about eDig who wish to discuss it. If not, I know there is an active eDig board here on SI.

Regarding your last post...

Saifun could apparently have raised capital at a higher value than $400 million if it had gone for financial investors, but the company wanted strategic partners instead, specifically Infineon.

The trend to look for strategic partners rather than investors from the financial world seems to be strengthening. I believe this is one of SanDisk's strengths. Having commited partners added to the stability of USIC, for example, before UMC bought out their interest. Tower Semi is probably as excited about having SanDisk on board as SanDisk is about incorporating MicroFlash into their controllers. I think that fabs see SanDisk as a strong partner to have from a strategic standpoint.

Now if SanDisk only had strategic partners investing in them since the early days (and not purely financial investors) things might be different now.
