Yes the same principle applies to ascending triangles.
you have a flat top where selling is occurring but
a rising trendline at bottoms as people pay higher and
higher prices for the stock or commodity.

volume typically decreases in triangles as one gets further
into a triangle pattern.

also triangles that get too far out into the apex tend to
not pan out as they should more often.
