With China, well, one never knows when the winds will shift and some political tree will fall on an innocent part of the economy, but IMO ASIA has a very good chance to become something like a Chinese combination of MSFT & AOL. However, at the moment it's a story stock, not a profit center. I look for ASIA to begin an upswing in stock price with any of three (inevitable) events. In order of chronological likelihood they are: (1) a post-election congressional ratification of China's membership in the WTO; (2) a secular improvement in the internet sector, leaving behind the dumb and hopeless ones; and (3) dramatic gains in gross earnings for ASIA.
