Chuck, Re: Check Duron release from June.

I did:

Leading computer manufacturers worldwide have announced plans to offer AMD Duron processor-based systems, including Compaq, Fujitsu-Siemens, Hewlett-Packard Company, IBM, NEC, Systemax and others.

That is everything. AMD never gave a specific date. Did you ever see a product press release from AMD/Intel with specific OEM release dates? I think that this would be highly unusual. Release dates are up to the OEM themselves.

All AMD needed to do was acknowledge the problem instead of issuing a glorious press release about how good the infrastructure support was.

They did! Just listen to the CC again. And how do yo define "good" infrastructure support? From the point of an AMD investor it may have been very bad. But from the point of someone working on a "virtual gorilla" strategy it may have been good. I think it's a matter of perspective and how politely you say it... Currently AMD needs VIA and can't speak publicly about their "lousy performance".
