according to recent SEC filings, it has been a "97 cents of investor cash for every 95 cents of merchandise sold" story.

I always considered AMZN overvalued, but a year ago if you had said that it would go bankrupt I would have said "no way". With their warehouse overexpansion and inability to pare down net losses after a doubling in revenues, bankruptcy is starting to look like one of several realistic outcomes (a takeover by Walmart or BN being another).
