Well, because Cisco is perceived as overvalued, whereas Nortel is not. Therefore, good news from Cisco may push Nortel up significantly, and only move Cisco up moderately. Just flapping my gums here, but it seems logical, doesn't it?

Of course positive reports in the sector will bouy all the players. A good report today by CSCO will help all the major telecom stocks. CSCO and NT, if you look at the chart are still tracking. I think you're point is that the gains in NT since May have been far greater than in CSCO... Still both have moved north since then.
