I did have some CPN when it first showed up on my screening a few weeks ago -- but, I'm afraid we're going into a phase where I'll be doing more watching than investing, until I get paid for a project I'm working on. That's one reason I tend to invest short-term: my work on government contracts that pay me only once a year results in the the investment coffers being drained as we await payment. It's not very easy to maintain continuous savings when you have kids...

Still -- I do continuously search for strategies and good investments, so that when we do have money for investment it can be put to good use. We've been pretty successful overall! Certainly have never gotten crunched by a big dip.

Some Calpine financial statistics:

In the past 4 fiscal years (ending Dec 31), the average annual gains have been:

Revenue: 59% annual growth
Income(Earnings): 90% annual growth
Earnings per Share: 50% annual growth

And 2000 Q1 continued this trend.
