Many stocks go through years of flat performance. Microsoft was flat from 1/1/92 to 1/1/94, before resuming its upward trend. Intel usually sits flat for about 18 months before doubling.

I agree a three year flat is tough to deal with, but it does allow long term investors to accumulate more stock cheaply. As long as the company continues to make progress, that's fine with me --- the price will come around in the end.

Sorry John and Ramsey.
First of all, John, you are right, I certainly have been disappointed before. Last Winter was VERY disappointing. It also turned into the biggest opportunity since five years ago. That is my point. WIND has its ups and downs and you can take advantage of that, even with as simple a strategy as dollar cost averaging. The point IMHO is to remain emotionally neutral. Otherwise, you are miserable or ecstatic and in either case you may not make great decisions. Actually I do not think that I have great timing. But, I do watch certain signals, such as noting that the thread certainly seemed to show capitulation when it started to take on the tone of the YHOO thread. Ramsey, your analysis at the top of your post was excellent, but the tone that I paid more attention to was this: "Having the CFO dumping, without a single explanation from the company, is not only stupid but it shows a "don't give a damn about shareholders attitude". I consider that whining IMHO. And it took my attention away from the rest of the post.
John, if you have been buying WIND all along then, surely you have made a profit. WIND had a huge disaster a year and a half ago and it is still recovering from that. When you stuck with it a year and a half ago, you were sticking with a value stock, recovering from a horrible sell-off. Wall St. distrusts value stocks. AMD is a great example. The slightest problem and they get hammered, but you can often pick them up for a bargain.Good luck. The WIND seems to have changed today. Let's hope it sticks.

The information on dice.com looks good as it does on monster.com, hotjobs.com and with industry leaders.
Here's Nortel (type in VxWorks to see the 53 openings): nortelnetworks.com
Here's Cisco (37 openings): cisco.com
Here's Motorola (again have to type in VxWorks-19 openings): motorolacareers.com
I believe that, at each site, the demand for VxWorks experience far outstrips the demand for any other RTOS experience.
