OEM's and Duron's...

How on earth do you expect OEM's to unload all of the 650Mhz Pentium III's if Duron's are on the shelves???

Duron's are being shipped to OEM's and they are sitting on them for now!! The fact that these are not immediately available does not bother me in the least. If anything it encourages me more. Why would any competitive company continually receive a product that they are not packaging and selling???

Charles, think Positive.. Duron could be stocking up for Volume business line Launch!

You seem too tense about Duron's Athlon's are everywhere on High end.

Things are so much different then last August.

Charles responded to Milo :
<I'm sure Duron's are in route to the warehouses and then from there to Retail stores. I guess we'll see them mid Sept.>

And Charles said:

>> C'mon Milo!

Charles.. If you recall.. it took some time for the new Athlon to ramp up as well when it was first introduced.. and it was a resounding success.. other then being an investor with money in AMD.. why so worried about it? Durons ARE out there in regular computer stores to buy.. seeing as the "other" is still the largest combined market out there over and above all the other "BIG" OEM's combined.. I think this wanting a major OEM to sell a Duron system is overrated; about the only thing I concede it would offer as an advantage is "name publicity".. but beyond that.. I'll bet a dollar most of Duron's sales will come thru the "other" market (which you guys seem to call 'chop shops')

I can point you to a list of stores in Canada, online or otherwise that carry Durons and MBS for upgrade or custom system pricing.. no problem getting Durons here.
