A parent can take responsibility for their children's lives and not let the schools or medical industry drug their children into submission. Ultimately, the decision is in the parents hands, even if they say "the doctor told me to do it". I don't believe that a parent's responsibility is transferrable. When I take my son to the doctor, I don't say "what should we do?" I say "What are my options?". And if I don't like the options given, I will (and have) say no.
