I wonder which industry you think you're writing about? To understand this particular one - and I'll spell it out for you - it's the gold mining industry - you have to understand the nature of gold mining, the size and distribution of the players, the nature of competition, the fact that at current prices, and with changes in mining methods, many of the large producers can make a very decent profit, there is not chance in hell of a producers' cartel, and, finally the strong will drive out the weak. Isn't that the capitalist way after all? Until you learn something of the nature of the beast you will continue to repeat the sort of pap that you trot out month after month.
