WTF is this? Could it be that the numbers were cooked SO hard that not even the "New-Era investors" will believe it? Or is it just that the CSCO cook-off is far more important than minor macroeconomic details?

Maybe people are worried about the EPS, not because of the "E" but because of the "S". You've got several ridiculously priced acquisitions adding mounds of shares. Plus, a friend just pointed out that Journal article that showed that Cisco employees' options increased in aggregate by $45 BILLION last year (compared to $2B of PRO-FORMA income - munched >20 years' corporate earnings). Would be mighty tempting for everyone to cash out.

Since the market is rewarding them for things that they haven't yet done, maybe they just won't do them? -g-
