When driver's licenses were first introduced, many citizens were against them. They felt that to require a license on a form of transportation restricted their right to move freely. Despite what regulators tell you and the public has accepted, driving is a protected right and NOT a privilege.

Zoning oftentimes has been used to enrich city councils and township coffers at the expense of private property rights. Zoning has often been misused and terribly abused.

Until an individual can demonstrate reason, good (common) sense and the maturity to handle certain products or services, age restrictions make good sense. For instance, most individuals under 12 cannot demonstrate they meet all the requirements necessary to properly handle a firearm, an airplane or an automobile. I would also agree that boys under the age of 14 probably should not seek the services of a prostitute, although prostitution should be decriminalized.

Examples abound, so I will not bore you with more details.

How do you feel about driver's licenses? Zoning? Age restrictions on certain products and services?
