I tried to short it again on the run-up this morning and Datek had nothing available.

Some may have covered at the end of the day and there may be shares available in the morning. The burst of volume after 3:30 and price spike had the look of shorts squaring their positions before the end of the day.

David, I could be mistaken, but I get the impression from your posts that you think that the shorts control the price. With only a few days hindsight, we can see this is not the case. -g- Seriously, the longs are the ones in control of the price, as they are in every stock. The fact that borrows are hard to come by domestically means the heat is on the shorts IMO. Those inclined to sell short are limited in their ability to add selling pressure, so only those who are long can do so. That it took out the 8/2 high so convincingly today makes it look like it has legs to me, at least for the immediate future.
