Tony,

I'm sorry if you felt that I was rubbing it in. That was not my intention. As you know, I have been constantly suggesting that people should take profits after the stock has had a good run. The reason why I said that it's too late for some people is that I feel at least some of them are going to get impatient and sell this at a loss only to end up chasing something else that has run up 50% in two weeks or one month or something like that.

Regarding Brinker, I remember him saying in Jan that the current stock-market action, which he believes is a prelude to a bear market of considerable proportions, will take a long time to play out. He has given a time frame of anywhere from 1 year to 2 years (i.e. about 6 months to 18 months from now). The fact that the market has gone around nowhere in the last nearly 8 months (in fact, every major average is in negative territory YTD) after 20%-plus returns for 5 years in a row, makes me think that he's onto something. Of course, one doesn't have to follow his advice and even I haven't followed it in its entirety.

Tony, Brinker really called for naz to tank yesterday. That means that his bear market rally didnt make him much money at all. Last i heard he was waiting for 4200 again to get out. He missed his chance apparently but he will take credit for the call, you will see. Mike

OT: Tony,

Re: Brinker, you said :

Cisco's earnings, or more exactly, their revenues: +60.7% YOY. This was one of his "vestal virgins", a new term for him, that he was implying all during his weekend shows might "blow up" if their earnings weren't perfect.

Do you still feel the same way, or do you think there was some merit to Brinker's talk about "vestal virgins"? As I see it, MSFT, INTC, CSCO (the three biggies) are all down from their peaks by 40% to 60% or thereabouts.
