JXM, those outstanding shares will never join the float. they're in the hands of Johannesburg registered nominee companies - i have never seen them sell a single stock. that said i'm not too happy with AU's hedge book (even though it is in the black when marked to market), since you mentioned that too. they promised to deliver into their hedges earlier this year, but have instead expanded them.
