You mention a few positives in favor of LU but the over-
riding factor is tax loss selling and few money
managers will want LU in their portfolio at years end.
LU can go up 10 dollars tomorrow morning if McGinn is
fired tonight.

Hi George, Interesting post, thanks. I only profess to be a private investor. I don't manage money for a fee or commissions; just my own net worth. :-)

LU became part of my portf. through ASND shares I owned. I think there are lots of others here in that same boat. Rather than take a cap. gains hit when it was bought by LU, I chose to stick with LU and see what happens. Well, the cap gains hit might have been cheaper!!

If you think TA is investment astrology, then you'd probably really be offended by the algorithm I use! :-)
It's nothing but a warmed over closed-loop controller program. It's a curiosity in that it has a "positive feedback loop" in it that adds to the investment envelope over time. With each buy cycle this occurs.

I've been using the same model for about 12 years with good success. If I get the time today, I'll put together some graphs of my ASND/LU history and post a link here.

Best regards, Tom
