David Howe, what if Infospace became the Aol of wireless web. Think about this for a second.

Right now, 8 of the 9 carriers use INSP. Infospace provides IM software as well as many other services to the carriers.

Now, what if Infospace created it's own standard (much like Aol has with AIM and iCQ). Once the carriers begin offering IM services to their users, it will create Infospace's as the standard on the wireless platform. The only way to talk with your buddies is if your carrier uses Infospace as their platform. The only thing is, i think Infofspace uses open standards, so they won't be able to get that lock Aol has.
