"BTW the cardboard boxes are very nice, I believe that Luc from the Clown thread lives in one."

ROFLMAO!!!!
What an image! Luc, curled up in a Sun cardboard bear cave outside the doors of the Public Library muttering in his sleep "Today we dive! Today we dive!"

I have never claimed that I used a Solaris Workstation.

BUTT when my husband's old PC with all that Windows Crap fizzled out, he got his employer to buy him a Sun Workstation. He sets it up only now, because he was locked out of his office because of asbestos problems.

However, he wants me to come in and use it because he has direct T1 (?) connection to Internet and he wants me to see how fast it operates. He's set up his workstation to use both Netscape and Star Office.

He bought Sun because he was fed up with the Wintel crap!!!

He's also used LINUX. He installed LINUX on our home PC several years ago, b4 it became popular with the techy crowd.

What we would like to see is a low-end Sun workstation that has been set up for the "average consumer." You go in, buy it, take it home and plug it in. Sun bought Star Office suite for word processing etc, but even on his Sun, my husband can run Netscape.

We think Sun could set up their low-end workstation for the average consumer. Look at all the crap you have to put up with when you run WINDOWS. We believe Sun's Star Office has greater stability.
