GPRS is a next generation communications platform which overlays a GSM wireless network to give subscribers high-speed wireless data access. I didn't realize GPRS was an overlay on GSM. The Nortel Networks GPRS core network solution is based on the widely deployed Nortel Networks Passport* and Contivity* Extranet switches,.. Didn't Nortel acquire the Contivity switch from Bay? Nice to see Nortel as first to provide a country wide GPRS network.
