Its just an application where trading partners phone in their inventory to the nearest exchange phone#. So theoretically if it is a farming operation, each farmer walks around his inventory and calls the farmexchange with 50 bushels kumquats, etc.

The exchange provider then puts the inventory on the catalog + other services.

This voice addition is new to the exchanges. We used to make suppliers log in and post their inventory. Thats fine for heavy manufacturers but falls apart in unautomated industries like farming, fishing etc. and also doesn't go down to the retailer level. VR enabled phones get everybody online.

Here's an exchange core technology provider looking for VR and VXML, mygazoo.com (this one has ariba and c1 people as advisors)

To get in here msft would need to release their API's to these companies like mygazzoo and tellme that want to use voice in their app. Is msft doing that? All I see is them enabling VR on the office suite - there's no tremendous future in that closed app. Nuance is providing the APIs to the third parties now, not msft.
