(AP) -- A man who won a $65.4 million Powerball lottery jackpot surrendered to authorities Wednesday, avoiding an arrest for failing to appear in court. Mack Metcalf, 42, a forklift operator from Florence, did not show up in court Tuesday to face charges of drunken driving, driving without a license and leaving the scene of an accident. Police said Metcalf hit a parked car several times in a mall parking lot on June 19. After he surrendered Wednesday, a judge withdrew a warrant for Metcalf's arrest, allowing him to remain free, sheriff's department spokesman Daren Harris said. Metcalf won the July 22 Powerball drawing. He chose the $34.1 million lump-sum cash option. State lottery officials were about to clear him to receive his winnings when the Kenton County attorney's office informed them that Metcalf had been behind on child support payments since 1986. A judge ordered Metcalf to pay $880,000 to a fund for future support because he already owed at least $31,000. AP-NY-08-09-00 1711EDT Now the rest of the story! My wife knows the one who called the Kenton Co. Attorney's office to warn them that this guy was about to collect millions as a dead beat dad. Let's take a look at how much he gets to keep.<VBG> He took the cash option which means he gets $34.1 million instead of the $65.4 million over time. Uncle gets about 50% of this leaving about $17 million. He is leaving his current wife whom he has agreed to give 40% to, which leaves about $10 million. He about to loose another million in legal expenses and back child support leaving about $9 million. So out of a $65.4 million winning ticket he walks away with $9 million! Any guess on how long it will take him to give away the rest?
