BILOW, now you have me laughing....BWHAHAHAHA

Sure, Intel is going to put out a high volume chipset which has a RDRAM controller built in and then ship it only with SDRAM and an extra MTP chip. <hehehehe>

I knew I could count on you for a rational explanation of irrational chip design practices. <G>

Carl, <The rumors of a new memory translation unit are an indication that i840 is going to begin shipping with SDRAM around 1Q01.>

Nice try, Carl.

>>Timna is going to ship with SDRAM, not RDRAM. Intel announced this a few months ago

Carl, are you getting desparate? Your posts used to have some credibilty, despite obvious bias (- which is everyone's prerogative). Now you seem to be stretching the truth. Apologies if I am wrong and have missed some announcement from Intel - I would be grateful if you could correct me and refer to the announcement if my criticism is unjustified.

Was the i840/SDRAM rumour from you based on truth? I think I know the answer but would like you to confirm your current vague position on this subject so we can judge your credibility more accurately.
