Funny thing, the South really didn't have as severe a hyperinflation during the civil war

My source was David Fischer's book, The Great Wave. He also mentioned this surprising strength of the Confederate Dollar. It was a pure fiat currency, just like the Greenback, and yet did O.K. He attributed it to the loyalty of Southerners to the cause.
