Trish, Teachers in the PA system are "taught" to recognize ADD and related disorders. The schools are compensated for delivering the drugs to the students. My experiences are that the children of the parents we know are urged to put their kids on Ritalin most often by 1st and 2nd year teachers.......those who have no children and have no experience in "crowd control." One example is a child with behavior problems being at the back of the class room, at a table with 3 other children with his back facing the teacher. The teacher never thought to move him to the front of the classroom or to switch his seating. Her 1st thought was to meet with the parents and ask them to have him tested and put on Ritalin. End result: The teacher hates the parents, the teacher hates the kid, the kid hates the teacher and the parents hate both the teacher and the principal of the school. The child is normal, sits at the front of the class and gets good grades. The teacher was in her 1st job. SHe had known the child for 3 weeks. Imagine that. SHootie

America, the "land of the free" -- less and less so as time goes on. If one is so desperate to keep their kids that they will go along with orders to drug them unnecessarily in many cases, tell me people, where does that lead us as we collectively cower if fear over the thought of losing our children? Where does it lead us.... Can you dare to imagine? What will it take for decent people to struggle against the increasing loss of their freedoms??? How far must it go before you all wake up?! Do you in wildest fantasies imagine that this country could have been founded with the almost totally passive sheeple we have among us today? Just go on as you are doing American people, and slavery will be the gift you bestow upon your children and grandchildren..... (just my opinion of course) Yogi
