Sorry to precipitate on your procession, Lynn, but Consumer Reports has been unhappily disappointed with the Mercedes' SUVs. To wit:

'course a Benz is a pricy maintenance proposition, in any case. But you hate to see a solid black circle next to "Predicted Reliability".
OTOH, the Lexus is check-rated.
