Albert, I see your posting on a regular basis now. welcome back. My point to Jim was that if AMD wants to play the FAB game, they better have predictable customer markets to sell into. They're hardly there now. No corporate exposure right now, and most likely through the rest of this year, from latest press releases. IBM/HP/GTW seem to use AMD only when it fits their short-term needs. Hardly reliable partners. CPQ seems to be the only dependable OEM. I dont give much possibility to jerry's prediction of 30% share next year. Wall St. likes Intel since its a market leader
with predictable earnings and behavior. Intel wont let AMD hve much more than 20% share without fighting back (i.e. slash prices). I haven't seen anything lately to make me change my view.

All that said, I also own AMD stock since oligopolies usually perfom well in high-demand markets <g>
