In April, Nokia's broadband access equipment, the Nokia D50e passed the final tests of the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) and gained type approval license for China. The Nokia D50e is a flexible, two-stage DSLAM platform, which will give Yunnan Telecom the ability to provide customers with high-speed DSL services ranging up to 8 Mbps. By utilizing Nokia D50e platform Yunnan Telecom can make full use of existing network resources and coverage and provide selectable bandwidth to satisfy the increasing demand for high-speed Internet access. Working with Nokia's other IP (Internet Protocol) products, the Nokia D50e will enable operators to establish an optimum DSL broadband access system.
