Tastes Like Chicken, It is good to "see" you again! This seems to be a very worthwhile topic, and I find myself agreeing in general with the author of the article with which you introduced the subject. Also, agreeing with the Original Mad Dog, it seems not to be a conspiracy -- simply an alignment of behaviors of individuals with their self interests. Additionally, I fully expect that many of them, probably the majority, are convinced that what they are doing is correct. This is the sort of effect that makes liberal politicians such a scary proposition -- in many cases, they are able to convince themselves that their actions are for the good of the "people" -- and personal integrity as well as critical thinking get short shrift. I wish you the best, TLC. I differ with your opinion in one area of personal significance -- to me, being a "piece of meat" is not the terrible thing that you portray it to be. What a wonderful chunk of meat the brain is! I seek to further my understanding of it -- but I don't believe that the program keeps running after the hardware is taken apart. This does not depress me at all; I try to do good things for good reasons, rather than fear of punishment in an afterlife. Best to you, Level Head
