I guess some of our brokers need to read up on the rules.
Good luck to us All.

James P. DLJ is not correct. If there is a stock split, the new price and the number of shares are reflected in your account immediately. They don't wait until they get the physical shares from the transfer agent.

Thats not what happened to me with a recent split (Exodus I think). I had Exodus in two different brokers when teh split happened, one credited immediately, the other didnt, and when I asked what was happening, they (Schwab I recall but I could be wrong) said they were waiting for the shares to arrive. It took about 3 days. In the meantime my account value dropped because obviously the shares had fallen in value due to the split. I dont know what would have happened had I wanted to sell or if margin had been an issue, could have been nasty.
