I am using 68¢ for last year's earnings.

The acquisition cost of 7¢ was a one time event, and I (and others) figure that including it would give a distorted view of DELL's earnings growth.

If DELL was very active in the acquisition area, like say NT or CSCO, I think it is a very valid argument to include acquisition costs in earnings growth calculations, since large acquisitions are a core part of their strategy. For DELL, an acquisition seems to me to be more like a one time event.
