I'm curious what you think right now about COST. There are a few retail stocks (COST, GPS, WMT) which I think are very interesting for those willing to be patient.

Bill, it is good to have you back. Sorry to hear about the pounding you took this spring. Looking forward to a few new good frauds to short. Looking at MTEX and IMCI today.

Regards,
Fund

Bill, I have never read your thread before but like your style and your thinking. I admire a man who admits to getting it wrong once or twice as I am always wary of those who claim to never lose and who walk on water in their spare time.

I wish you well and will be lurking and listening .... with the rare contribution if I feel i have something to offer.

Peter

Bill,

Good to see you back and posting. And thanks for telling the truth about things (including your losses in the spring.)

I am interested in your recommendation of COMS. I recall that when you were recommending COMS in the pre-PALM-spinoff days, you said it was solely because of PALM, and that you didn't like the COMS stub particularly. (BTW, thanks for the rec... I made a ton in the runup from the $30s to the PALM IPO, so I figure I owe you one.)

I am surprised by your continuing recommendation. Would you not agree that COMS management... shall we say... lacks management ability? Yes, they did the right thing for the shareholders in the PALM spinoff, but so many, many times they have done the wrong thing in the networking market. Technically, COMS products have been great... but management has consistently wasted that edge. What makes you think the management won't continue this performance?

No matter how cheap COMS is, if the management doesn't do their job, it's not worth much.

I would greatly appreciate it if you would describe some of your thinking here.

Thanks,

BD
